Whatisworkflowautomation?
Workflow automation uses software to move data and tasks between your apps without manual copying. If your team does repetitive data entry, workflow automation can save hours every week and cut down on status chasing and routine customer queries.

How it works
Workflow automation uses triggers and actions. When something happens in one app (a trigger), the workflow performs an action in another app. For example: when a form is submitted on your website, the workflow creates a lead in your CRM, sends a notification to Slack, and adds a task to your project manager.
Common examples
Here is what workflow automation looks like in practice for UK SMEs.
- New enquiry on website → CRM record created → notification sent to sales team.
- Invoice paid in accounting software → project marked complete in project management tool.
- New employee added to HR system → accounts created in email and Slack, with file storage set up.
- Support ticket resolved → customer satisfaction survey sent automatically.
Do you need it?
If any of these sound familiar, you probably do.
- Your team spends more than 5 hours per week on repetitive data entry.
- Information lives in multiple places and you are never sure which is correct.
- Handoffs between team members or departments regularly stall or fail.
- You have hired people partly to handle admin that could be automated.
Getting started
Start small. Pick the highest-volume, lowest-complexity task and automate it. Measure the time saved, then expand to the next task. We help clients identify and prioritise automations during our free workflow review.
Frequently asked questions
Is workflow automation the same as AI?
Not exactly. Workflow automation moves data and tasks between apps. AI adds decision-making and natural language understanding. Prediction is another AI feature. Many workflows combine both.
What tools do you use?
We primarily use n8n, Zapier, and Make depending on complexity and security requirements. Your existing stack also plays a part.
How long does it take to build an automation?
Simple automations take a few days. Complex multi-app workflows with error handling and custom logic take 2 to 4 weeks.
